We purchased this 2015 Toyota Tacoma brand new. We always had it serviced and took very good care of it. 9/14/20 we were coming home from vacation when our cruise dropped than it cut off and our temp gauge went to cold. We pulled to the side of the road and called tow truck.
Toyota dealer gave a diagnostic report that the engine was blown.
Cause was from an AC clutch that flew apart and cut all the sensors for the dashboard which didn’t give us an indication we were overheating. Oil was boiled in the engine which warped the heads.
We called Toyota Headquarters which has given us the run around. Mechanics we have talked to has never heard of anything like this before.
We purchased this vehicle when we retired because of the reliability issue these trucks have (3rd Toyota we have owned).
Between the cost of the engine and Toyota’s inability to help, WE WILL NEVER BUY A TOYOTA AGAIN!
