To be fair, I like the Tacoma for reliability and longevity. Resale is good. BUT, I was promised by Seattle Toyota dealer that fuel estimates were very conservative and should easily hit targets posted on sales sticker. Missing the mark by four miles per gallon (17 mpg hwy on an 800 mile trip) adds up to thousands of dollars over the next several years. I was going g to buy the GMC Canyon All Terrain but the dealer kept screwing up the order and didn't call back, so I gave Toyota the purchase.
Fuel economy is a huge emotional disappointment. I feel deceived. I should have talked with current owners first. Other than the fuel, seems to be a good truck.

I LOVE THE TACOMA BUT THE FUEL ECONOMY HAS BEEN A PROBLEM, TRUCK IS ADVERTISED AS 18 MILES PER GALLON IN THE CITY AND 21 IN HIGHWAY. AFTER 9000 MILES NEVER SEEN THOSE NUMBER. MPG IS STILL 13 IN THE CITY AND 16 IN HIGHWAY,
TOYOTA DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS: THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TRUCK, NOTHING TO FIX.
