Straight black paint, looked great for first couple of years. Has recently developed "tiger stripes" on passenger side only, doors and rear panel only. Rest of vehicle is perfect. This truck has been in a garage night and day it's whole life. No sunlight fading anywhere and still looks brand new. The discoloration is clearly under the clearcoat.

2017 Toyota Tacoma, Blue. the roof and hood are fading fast! The roof looks 20 years old in the sun. I've had the truck new for 1-1/2 years. This is awful. I look on line and this seem to be a common occurrence. Going to the dealer will keep you posted

My 2017 Tacoma MGM grey paint job has failed. The clear coat and paint are disintegrating over the roof and the hood is going to follow. I take care of vehicles and drive them for a long time. I've never had paint fail like this before. Many owners have posted pictures and complained about this issue. Only white Tacomas are being recalled.
I filed a case/complaint with Toyota Customer Care. Toyota refused to correct the issue. I was told to take my Tacoma to the dealership where purchased. I called Li***ty Toyota, over the phone, they said they could help. Dealership took half a glance at my truck and said there's nothing they could do. Dealership then recommended $1,500 in BS maintenance. I called Toyota back and explained the dealership wouldn't help and Toyota again denied my case.
The rear diff was replaced at 400 miles, rear shocks leaked at 20,000 miles, rear brake light leaked staining the roof liner.
My 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan's paint looks great.
Toyota needs to correct this. If you want a nice looking truck, don't get a Tacoma. Very Disappointed.
