The high mount rear stop lamp leaks water into the cab. The water channels in through a cheap gasket, down the inside of the frame, destroying the cushions and plastic through moisture and mildew. Toyota Corporation and Precision Toyota of Tucson (service) AZ, both say the problem is only covered by the regular 36,000 mileage, 3 year warranty. They want to charge me $575 to replace the light. However, the known issue doesn't occur because of miles driven or even age of the vehicle. I live in the desert and it has not rained significantly since I bought the truck new in 2017, according to the National Weather Service. This year, with record rains, water is freely seeping in to the cab. Toyota should recall Tacomas with this issue and replace the cheap gasket it used to manufacture these trucks.

Left turn signal quit working while driving on a city street making a left turn. Toyota took 4.5 hours to diagnose the problem. Said it was in the instrument cluster affecting the turn signal and odometer. Said it would take a week to get part and they needed to know how many miles I would drive in that week because the odometer had to be set to existing miles plus the miles I drive during the week. One week later was told the part was on back order and it would be 30 to 60 days for the part. I googled the problem and found many complaints of "left turn signal going out" on Toyota Tacoma dating as far back as 2012. Obviously Toyota knows of the problem. Have they fixed the problem on the replacement part or is it pron to go out again. How many people have had to drive for one or two months without a left turn signal, how many accidents have occured because of not having a left turn signal, how many citations have been issued for failure to use turn signal. How many vehicles do not have the correct mileage on the odometer, mine wont unless they contact me and ask how many miles I have driven prior to shipping the part as I was told it had to be set at the factory before shipping. In addition the diagnostic coast was $150 the part will be $750 plus labor to install. I feed Toyota should have known exactly what the problem was when told the left turn signal quit. I googled it in less that 5 minutes. So far no invoices to share.

Every so often I heard a bang coming from the drivetrain while I'm driving and also when I put the truck on reverse the sound it's loud. I don't know it's a transmission problem or the joints with the differential. But it's getting bad. Also I have problems with the charging system and it was brought in and the day there is no problem but for some reason some times lights will come up out of the bue.

Occasionally when driving the speedometer does not show the accurate speed such as the speedometer show 0 when going 30mph. There is also a weird metal clanking noise which sounds like its coming from the transmission and sounds like its trying to shift gear while in reverse or drive. Also the air conditioning fan motor has cracked and when turned on sounds like a motorcycle reving it's engine.

Went through a car wash and both rear corners of the cab leaked enough that the water was gushing in. The headliner got soaked, if this hits electrical components it could short an electrical system possibly resulting in affected electrical components shutting down increasing the possibility of an accident. Or worse, could damage the SRS airbag located in the next to the rear seats. The file type of the pictures I have are not the format accepted so they will not upload.

Drivers side seat heater stopped working. I researched online and found this to be a common issue and was probably due to a burnt up connection at seat heater amp located under the driver seat. I contacted my dealer and told them there is a visibly burnt connection but was advised that since I was 600 miles past warranty, there was nothing they could do. I called Toyota usa and got a case number and was again told there was nothing they could do.with all the images of burnt connectors this seems to be a fire hazard.

The drivers side heated seat connector and heater amp burned up and shorted out. This connector is located under the seat. I feel this is a fire hazard to say the least. I went on the internet and this seems to be a common problem. I called Toyota usa they said to take it to the dealer to get it fixed but it is not covered under a warranty. One day last week the heated seat stopped working and there was a slight odor of burning plastic.

Purchased truck July 24, 2017 from mark miller Toyota in salt lake city, Utah. In the first 6 months I lost brakes 3 times. Went to dealer each time. They couldn't duplicate so no repairs made. After the 3 times a recall came out, 18V888. Exact symptoms. Then a forth time happened and they said the recall doesn't effect my VIN so they still have to duplicate. Today, February 27, 2019 truck wouldn't stop and I ran thru a stop sign, and it was cont on my dash cam. With this problem my seats are loose and sometimes don't lock. When ever in 4 wheel drive the seat belts lock up and wont unlock lock. I've had nothing but issues with this truck and nothing will ever get fixed and I'm scared to drive my vehicle especially when my dealer won't repair anything. Also believe it has something to do with the vehicles off-road option, crawl control, which uses ABS.

Blower motor (squirrel cage) separated from blower motor output shaft while vehicle was running and stopped. Began making loud rattling noise. Can see crack in squirrel cage though cabin air filter access point in back of glove box. No effective operation of ac, heat, or front windshield defrost. O'brien Toyota dealership in indianapolis Indiana declined request to cover under goodwill warranty because it is 20,000 miles over mileage limit, despite being a part failure that puts safe vehicle operation at risk.

I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with 53000 miles on it. The squirrel cage on the ac blower motor broke today during a 100 degree day. From what I can see on line there is a back order on the replacement part. The plastic female port for the shaft cracked in half and not the cage makes a horrendous noise. Poor design: Metal shaft spinning inside plastic is a recipe for a stress crack which is what this appears to be. My truck is out of warranty so now I am stuck paying for the repair!!

The contact owns a 2017 Toyota Tacoma. While driving at an undisclosed speed with the cruise control set to 72 mph, the instrument panel failed to operate as intended. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The manufacturer was notified and opened case number: 1803130625. The approximate failure mileage was 2,800.

The speedometer would get stuck and not display an increase or decrease in speed while driving. Or it would display an increase in speed up to 60 mph and then treat 60 as 0. ex. I was going 45 but it read that I was going 95. Or sometimes, it would just increase all the way to 120 mph and then stop. Turning the vehicle off and then back on did not make a difference. The gauge would still read where it was when the car was turned off. I was never sure of the speed I was going and brought the vehicle into the dealer within a month of the occurrence. The truck was only 10 months old. The vehicle has been at the dealership for 2 months. They are waiting on Toyota to create & ship a new speedometer because Toyota identified that the speedometers in some of their make/models were faulty.
