Tacoma Sport V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,662 miles

A rodent chewed the transmission wire and a clutch wire. Leaving the truck undrivable. My auto insurance agreed to pay for the repairs minus my deductible. The repair tech, told the insurance adjuster he could repair the wires, in other words...patch them. So, instead of replacing the wiring harness, which should have been done, considering this is a 2017 with only 18,662 miles on it. The tech said this patch would be covered under the factory warranty.... well what happens 4 years from now when his patch fails?!?!?

I called Toyota and was told since it was a rodent issue there was nothing they could do about it. I can't believe the judge threw out the class action lawsuit against Toyota.. the service advisor told me I was the 3rd Toyota that DAY with the same issue and probably the 7th this month! Obviously Toyota has an issue with their wires!!
