This occurred quite suddenly. My brother had borrowed my truck and washed it. When I went to wash it about four weeks later, I saw the oxidation on the roof, and a little oxidation on the hood. Next time I was with my brother, I had him look at the roof, and he was shocked, said that the paint was fine when he washed it. I bought Pinnacle clay and lubricant from Autogeeks to try and remove the oxidation, but it had no effect. The paint seems to be damaged below the clear coat. I have seen another Tacoma with the same paint color with terrible oxidation on the hood. It appears to me to be a defect in the paint. I also noted that Toyota discontinued Inferno in 2019, so I wonder if they knew that there is a problem with that color.
