So this isn't the first time I've written about this, and yesterday was so bad, I feel it is worth another notation for yesterday's issue.
Sitting at the park, truck is idling. It's hot and humid, so sitting with A/C on and enjoying the music. Time to head home. Going from battery to gas is rough, I'm used to that.
But on the way home, I was coasting down a small hill towards a stop sign. Speed limit is 25, probably going 30 or slightly over, applying brakes as I'm going towards stop and going downhill, but as I get near to the stop sign and want to stop, it is surging ahead and requires much more brake to stop it. This had been happening on both a previous tacoma hybrid limited, but happening on this one as well. This one scared me as it was a definite surging effect.
At first I was like is my foot touching the gas and brake? It wasn't. It's like the thing is coasting along and getting an e-assist and it just keeps surging forward.
At some point this is going to have to be addressed by Toyota, I'm sure when I take it in for it's first service and report it, they'll just be like "Could not duplicate concern"....but hoping they'll report it to Toyo HQ. It's serious. This is not the way a Toyota should work, nor is the rough transmission when it's cold.
