I have a 2000 Tundra, my friend has a 2001 Tundra. We have rear side window latch problems. Just open them and close, they will break. No stress, no binding of the window. The plastic hinges need to be replaced..

The rear quarter panel latches crack very easily. I have personally talked to over 6 people who have different year Tundra with the same problem. Toyota knows about this. There is a service bulletin on it. With so many years involved, it should be recalled!!! at least offer free new latches!

Vehicle is a 2000 Toyota Tundra access cab SR5. From the time the vehicle was purchased new, I've had problems with the door locking mechanism on the truck. The truck was purchased with the convenience package, which includes power lock doors. The door will unlock at speeds above 60 mph. The door ajar indicator will activate on the dash and the power door locks will unlock. The only way to resolve this condition is to stop the car in a safe area, get out and open and close the doors firmly. This occurs intermittently, but seems to occur on rough roads, and snow road conditions.
