My husband and I were waking up to his alarm that went off at 5 am and he hit the snooze, during the snooze time we heard what sounded like a handgun go off so we both jumped up and opened the door leading to the outside of the house and immediately seen my truck engulfed in flames, the headlights were on and my grandson and husband both got Water hose's and proceeded to put the fire out but it was so hot and we were afraid that the truck would explode if we got any closer. My next door neighbor called 911 and firetruck arrived to finish putting out the fire but the entire truck was completely melted, at least the cab. The firefighter helped get the hood open so that my husband could disconnect the battery because the headlights were still on and the battery was throwing sparks.

Driving city streets check engine light comes on when trying to turn left an truck will not excerlate until throttle is pressed almost to the floor have to pull over to the side stop turn off the engine let set for about 10 seconds start the engine air will respond but the check engine light stays on very dangerous called Toyota an got no help have had it worked on an it will do O.K for a while but back to the same problem bad problem for safety

Due to rust, O2 sensors are bad, exuast system bad, left rear tire ball joint defective, emergency brakes defective, body frame has holes at left side, majority of frame is rusting. Per mechanics all this is stemming from the rust. Truck has low mileage, frame is crumbling in some places and is a danger to drive safely. Just went through inspection.exact date is unknown as to when this occurred.

The off-road wiring harness box was replaced in 2012 by recall still having problem with this unit can not get it to work. Toyota says only 1 yr warranty. Also tail light bulb will not stay in place keeps falling out so you have no back up light or parking light when falls out. Both have had recalls but still do not work. What are you suppose to do. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2000 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while entering the vehicle, he noticed burned markings on the interior headliner where the rear view mirror was mounted. There were no visible flames. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. The VIN was unavailable.

Loss of engine power, throttle was unresponsive, engine kept running but I had to pull over in the emergency lane. Autopart store checked engine code "P1121" as a throttle position sensor. I called Toyota dealers to get more info... they wanted over $100 just to do the same thing that parts store did for free. They said it may not happen again, it may happen occasionally, or it may fail. The fix might cost $1,000 or more. I bought Toyota because they had a good reputation, this sounds more like a Dodge dealer answers...

I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra and it has a problem that when the car gets hot the engine will stall out and die without warning. It creates no omd II errors and the check engine light never appears. The ECM fuse blows on occasion but replacing it does not lead to a running vehicle. It fails to start until the engine compartment cools down. There is fire from the spark plugs and there is fuel pressure in the fuel rail. We have replaced all the relays and fuses in the ECM and EFI circuits and all fingers are now pointing to the ECM controller itself. We just changed out the fuel pump and are looking at replacement of all the ignition coils (8) and all the fuel injectors (8). But since all of these components seam to be working that would make little since. The recent recall for the ECM on the matrix & corolla indicate that there may have been problems with the manufacture of ECM units for a much longer period of time since my Tundra is exhibiting the same problem. This problem has been getting worse for over 5 years now and the Toyota dealers and other Toyota specialty shops cannot find the problem since there are no engine codes and the fact that it will start and run fine after it cools down. I have been waiting for it to die and not start at all to hope to find the problem.

Driving 2000 Toyota Tundra in northern Wyoming 1 week ago during freezing temps. Engine shut down shortly after starting in the morning leaving driver with no power to maneuver in traffic. Vehicle sits in traffic until idle speed will move vehicle out of way of other cars. This has happened before when vehicle sits out all night in freezing cold weather. Car taken to dealer each time and we are told this happens on this V-8 engine for Tundra and land cruiser mfg 1999. Dealer has other vehicles in for repair at this time and says he replaces several each year. Dealer says intake manifold must be replaced with corrected manifold. Dealer believes the problem is in the electrical circuit attached to the manifold. Cost is to be approx $1400. Dealer says to take up problem with Toyota Corp.

While driving, heard road noise like doors not closing. Also, air came through the doors. Contacted dealer. New seals were installed around door openings by the dealer. Door ajar light comes on at times and electric door locks open due to lock assembly failure. Key would not come out of ignition. Alarm goes off by itself due to shock sensor shorting out. The vehicle would not start due to battery failure.
