I bought this truck new in 2005. Frame rust started almost immediately. Took it in for the first recall, in 2016 I believe, and they inspected it, said it was okay and sprayed it with some black stuff. Black stuff started falling off in less than a year. Toyota won't do anything more and now the frame is so rusted that the truck is dangerous to drive. They say the recall is over and I am out of luck.
Toyota MUST replace every frame that is affected by this problem no matter how old the truck. My truck has 77K miles on it, has been very well maintained and is worthless because of this problem. Toyota knows about the problem, and fixed a lot of trucks - but those of us who responded to the recall right away got the shaft. I feel like Toyota ripped me off for doing the right thing.

Called Toyota and was told there was nothing else that they were filing to fix the problem at this time being. They said that they did an initial recall and put corrosion preventative on it.
