Just bought the truck 8/15/2015 and guess what, it's it the shop for the second time and it's only 8/20/2015. Dealer gave me a 30 day warranty on the check engine light. Looks like I got a fight on my hands. Funny thing is I traded a nice 2000 Tundra in on this piece of sh*t!!!!! Wish I would have check this sight first !!!!! The dealer said they will make good, if they can fix at little cost to them. Oh yeah its a 2005 TOYOTA TUNDRA THAT'S WHAT THE SALES WOMAN KEEPS saying all the way thru the sale Toyota my ASS. Thanks for reading, will keep you up dated.

My truck started making a winding noise that sounded like a problem with the power steering. I got in to drive and after about a block it would barely go. It was not responding normally when I pressed on gas pedal. I was told by mechanic later that this is called going into 'limp mode'. It means it allows you to drive (limp) a short ways to park it in a safe place. I was able to make a big block and get back home. I called tow truck to take it to auto shop. When he started it to drive up on the tow truck bed he heard the winding noise. He said it definitely sounded like the power steering pump.
The auto shop called to inform me that it was the air intake pump. It cost almost $2,000 to repair. I don't know how or if the power steering ties in with this. I am newly divorced and on a fixed income and this depleted almost all of my emergency savings.

After having the truck for one year the check engine light started to come on and off. I took the truck to the shop and had the codes read. The code reader reported a problem with the secondary air injection system.

Have a 2005 Tundra that ran great until check engine light came on and lost power over 40 mph. Took it to dealer and was informed the air injection pump rotator came apart. With all parts and labor fix was over $3400. All for a cheap plastic fan blade coming apart. Called Toyota to try to receive some help since the dealer informed me that ,07 and newer had extended warrenty and that its a common problem with '05. Toyota stated they couldnt do anything for me. NOT VERY PLEASED.. FEEL RIPPED OFF BY TOYOTA!!

check engine light is on. it has a p2445 code, which is secondary air injection pump stuck off bank 1. it is a very expensive part to replace and my truck won't pass inspection. I believe that toyota should recall this part because it is a common issue. our trucks cant pass inspection until its repaired. toyota did a recall for the 2007 model, they should do it for 2005 tundra also.
