I had to replace bulbs in the cargo light and the lic. plate lights recently. First I found it strange that both bulbs went out on cargo, then weeks later both bulbs went out on plate. The correct bulbs were in, but I found it disturbing that not only where the sockets burnt and one almost melted but the cargo lens cover was melted by the heat of the bulbs, not all the way through but noticeable. Why would Toyota use this type of bulb if it is so hot it's melting or burning the plastic around it?
