Frame rust on front of vehicle in the "crumple" zone. I was told by Toyota that it was part of limited service campaign D0D for 2004-2006 Tundra and that a sealant was applied in June 2014 and no other action will be taken. These vehicles clearly have structural integrity issues due to known frame rusting resulting from a manufacturing deficiency that are beyond the scope of the limited service campaign for the 2004-2006 model years just like the 2000-2003 Tundra vehicles that were subject to full recall. The NHTSA should take action with the 2004-2006 Toyota Tundra vehicles to ensure Toyota addresses the safety related structural integrity concerns with the frames of these vehicles as they have for the 2000-2003 and 2007-2008 model years.

Tamara recall - I was exiting the freeway, making a left hand turn onto the city street, I was traveling approximately 25 miles per hour. As I entered the intersection, on a green light, a 1996 GMC Yukon ran a red light, travelling approximately 40 miles an hour and hit me on my front end, damaging the bumper, fender, door, hood and bed on the drivers side. I was wearing my seatbelt but the impact was hard enough to propell me upwards, causing my left shoulder to hit the frame above the window which caused a grade 3 separation of my left collarbone.

The 2006 Toyota Tundra had a recall on the frame because the frames were compromised due to excessive rust. I took my vehicle in to orleans Toyota and had the frame inspected. They said the frame was not rusted that bad and it could be treated, which was part of the class action law suit compromise. Now my frame has rusted through and the vehicle is not safe to drive. How did the dealership properly inspect a enclosed box frame" how do you treat a frame made out of inferior metal and correct the issue" the treatment did not correct the issue. My vehicle has become a safety issue even after the recall. I live in new england and know this is a very common problem with the Toyota Tundra at this time. I took my vehicle back in to orleans Toyota and had them inspect the frame. They took a picture of where the frame has rusted through and sent it to Toyota. Toyota has not responded in the last couple months. Many of the vehicles that had the frames treated are, or are becoming unsafe to drive.

Frame rust - I am experiencing major frame rust on my vehicle. It effects 90% of the frame, the brake lines, control arms and even the alignment components. Most recently my alignment components seized up with rust and now the vehicle can not be properly aligned with out replacement of those components. This has cause abnormal tire wear. Toyota has recalled 2000-2003 Tundra frames. Also Toyota has now have been sued for the 2005-2007 sequoia frames & and 2007-2008 Tundra. My vehicle needs a recall as well!!! this is a very serious safety issue!!

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced for brake work when it was observed that there was corrosion on the frame. The vehicle was taken to koch 33 Toyota (3816 hecktown rd, easton, pa, 18045) where it was diagnosed that there was frame corrosion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer back in 2013 due to sb-10058681-4896 for the frame. At the time, the vehicle was sprayed with an undercoating. The dealer informed the contact that due to the limited service campaign expiring in 2015, nothing could be done. The manufacturer confirmed that the limited serviced campaignd expired, but no additional assistance was offered except referring the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 75,079. The consumer requested to be advised of any information resulting from this complaint.

When the contact inspected the vehicle, it was observed that there was corrosion along the passenger side front cross member mount of the transmission, where it connected to the frame and driver side frame rail (rot) of the square channel. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened case number: 1710042512. The contact was informed that there was no recall for the failure, and that there was only a tsb for corrosive resistant coating that was applied. The manufacturer did not offer any additional assistance and closed the case. The failure mileage was approximately 96,710.

I purchased truck used June 2016..somebody informed me later that there had been a rust issue with the frames on these models. Upon visual inspection it looks like at some point somebody tried to cover up with under spray. That has not held because a good portion of frame and cross member has rusted away. I called Toyota and they gave me two case numbers and said it was out of warranty and recall expired. I asked dealership to inspect for rust in January of 2017 and they said it was Toyota issue and to wait. I think it could be potential safety issue if trying to pull trailer and possible any other time..safety issues should not have expiration in my opinion. Not good feedback since January.

Truck had front gas tank strap rust out. Went to dealer for repair. Was told repair couldn't be completed because frame had rusted out in that area. 2014 Toyota had a rust campaign and dealer applied corrosion rust coating. Frame still rusted! was informed by dealer unsafe to drive. Recalls on all other years except 2006. Truck sits in driveway basically is a pile of scrap. Called Toyota corporate received case #. case manager told me sorry cannot help the rust coating was a one time fix. So now am stuck with a truck unsafe to drive. !!!!thanks Toyota!!!!

2006 Toyota Tundra truck bed started rusting several years ago. There was a recall for the rusted frame but not the bed. Surrounding metal area surrounding all screws that hold bed onto frame completely rusted. Golf ball size holes in bed as well. Rusting rapidly. When I called Toyota corporate, the response was, "if we fix it for you, we have to fix it for everyone." I do not have the monies to repair a defective product. This is not right. Spent too much on this vehicle. Inside bed looks like the current pictures of thetitanic. I am at a complete loss. Should not have to pay for this defect.
