My 2007 Toyota Tundra has a very bad frame and under body rust issue (I have multiple pictures and videos I can provide). Last August, I found out on a Toyota forum that there is a recall/class action settlement for this issue www.toyotaframesettlement.com I have contacted Toyota coorporate on (or around) 08/03/2018 (incident: 180803-000275) for more information and asked where I should take my truck for inspection. I was told they can't help because my truck was built (of configured) for the Canadian market. I contacted Toyota Canada (1-888-869-6828) and was told they can't help because I don't reside in Canada and the frame settlement is only for residents https://www.clg.org/class-action/list-of-class-actions/Toyota-rusty-frame-Canadian-class-action. I have already spent over $1500 worth of brake cables, tensioner and other rusted parts. I was told, this truck is very unsafe to drive. I have tried everything and nobody is listening. This situation is causing me a lot of sleepless nights and stress. I'm planning to contact my lawyer next week to discuss out options if there is no resolution. The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. When the vehicle was started, it entered into limp mode. The vehicle had no power and the transmission felt like it was dragging. All the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact's spouse connected a code reader to the vehicle and received failure reading "secondary air injector is stuck". the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs due to the diagnostic fees. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact of an updated warranty that was issued in 2017, which had expired. The contact also stated that the frame of the bed was rusted. The contact had not received any notifications from the manufacturer about the extended warranty and recall campaigns for the transmission and rust. The vehicle was serviced at Toyota world of newton (66 hampton house rd, newton, NJ 07860). The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

Since the day that I bought this vehicle I have complained about the rust. It was 2 yes old with 17,000 miles on it. The bed and frame are badly rusted. I received a letter from Toyota about frame and they applied some weird black stuff. Total nightmare. The bed, even though I found a service bulletin they say too late to do anything. Even though I have been complaining at more then 5 dealership's since 2009 and called corporate numerous times. The bed is dangerous and has been. The support structure, .around mounting bolts, eventually bed will separate from frame. Very critical safety issue. Known problem but won't honor. Next problem that they also have an updated warranty which I was never notified about. Secondary air injection system fails, which is an emissions component. Critical to keep emissions low.

Who can I get to help me because my truck frame is rusted/corroded from salt and it is not safe. It pulls hard to the right. I went to holloway tire co.(706-647-7016 - [xxx]) in thomaston, ga. To get my front end aligned. They could not do it because the bolts they needed to loose on the lower control arm, in order to align it, were so rusted/corroded from salt that they could not get them loose. They even applied heat to the bolts to try and break them loose but that did not help. The rust/corrosion from salt had them frozen/locked. Toyota refuses to honor their frame recall on my 2007 Toyota Tundra. The court ordered Toyota to fix the problem in a class action settlement. See website below. www.toyotaframesettlement.com I live in Georgia. I bought my truck 1 year ago. (Sept. 2017) in conyers, ga. Previous to that the 07 Tundra spent 10 years in New York. It was a one owner previous to me. The frame is rusted/corroded from salt but Toyota will not do anything about it because I do not live in a cold weather state. Even though, Toyota was told that the truck lived in a cold weather state from 2007 to 2017. (out of the 11 past years the truck lived in New York 10 of those years). I went to my local Toyota dealer (butler Toyota - 888-683-1348 ) in macon, ga. And that dealership representative [xxx] contacted Toyota headquarters and even sent them pictures of my frame and the dealership was told by Toyota headquarters since, I do not live in a cold weather state, Toyota is not going to do anything about my truck. Even though, Toyota headquarters was told that out of the 11 past years 10 of those years (from 2007 TO2017) the truck lived in New York (a cold weather state). I need help to get Toyota to do the right thing and get my frame fixed because it is rusted and not safe VIN # [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

After replacing the tires on the vehicle, the independent mechanic was unable to completely align the wheels due to severe rusting and corrosion of the suspension and subframe. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was 55,000. Major bed rot at mounting brackets for bed frame Toyota has a recall for this under some VIN ranges and I have been told at first that my VIN was not listed, then I was told I was out by mileage, then I was told there was not bulletin for this problem and the last time I question this problem I was told that because I didn't service my Tundra at there dealer ship they could not help me. I am a Honda master tech and take care of my truck better then most people do there own cars

I own a 2007 Toyota Tundra and while stationary in my garage I noticed bubbling under my spray in bedliner where the bed contacts the frame cross rails front and back. I then crawled under the truck bed and saw a massive amount of rust on the underside of the bed. I took it fort's Toyota of pekin and they said they could not help me and that I could call Toyota customer service but didn't think it would help since I didn't notice it till after warranty was expired even though I've had every service done at their place since new. You would think the 27 point inspection they performed every time would have caught it before warranty expired since they had a tsb on the rust through problem.

I had my 2007 57,800 mile Tundra inspected at my Toyota dealer when I was informed that the frame/under vehicle is "very rusty". upon inspection by myself the entire frame is rusting and flaking off. The service tech played stupid and referred me to corporate(800-331-4331). She also said it passed inspection and there are no holes in the frame. I guess that makes it all ok. Corporate informed me that my truck has no "warranty service enhancements" at this time. They are aware of the problem but can offer me no further assistance with this issue, at this time. I should not have severe rust issues with a garage kept 2007 Tundra(or any vehicle) at 57,800 miles that I purchased new. I suspect the vehicle will have safety issues within the next 2 years due to the severe rusting of the frame.

Toyota Tundra rust and corrosion in truck bed. Coming from below. Spreading like cancer and this was posted on July of 2012 # tsb-0101-12. Rust has completely eaten through truck bed floor and there are several (8+) other spots. I'm now concerned with safety for my family. I first noticed this on 9/9/16 after removing my bed liner for first time to then have a spray liner in place. I then took to dealership and then called Toyota. If they would've informed me of the tsb, I would have taken it in to have fixed as this one major hole is more than 5 years in the making. With the timing of this tsb that would've put me inside the 5 year corrosion warranty. You just never think to look under bed liner and now it's too late per Toyota. Very unhappy

The dealer stated that the failure was unusual and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that the subframe underneath the vehicle was corroded, even though an anti corroding agent had been applied to the vehicle. In addition, the brake pads, rotors, and calipers had to be replaced prematurely on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and a dealer who both confirmed that the corrosion was past the point of repair and that a new subframe would be needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50.

The contact sustained injuries to the head and back. Medical attention was not received. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. I own a 2007 Toyota Tundra double cab limited 4X4. I started noticing rust developing in my truck box in March 2011. I reported it to Toyota in Canada as the vehicle had been imported from the usa into Canada from the previous owner back in 2007. I was told that I would have to contact Toyota usa for corrosion warranty. When I contacted Toyota usa I was told that there was currently no recall for the issue I was experiencing and I would not be covered under corrosion warranty because my truck had been exported out of the usa. It was not until a few years later I was told by the local Toyota dealership that there was a recall for this exact issue as well as an issue of frame rusting. I contacted Toyota Canada to see if my truck would be covered. I was told that once again this was an issue that would have to managed by Toyota usa. I contacted Toyota usa and was told that I was over the 5 year unlimited mileage as well my vehicle had been exported from the usa so either way it would have not been covered.

Truck bed rusting from underneath in 2 spots where attaching to the frame undercarriage and bubbling on bed floor. Is a known problem and Toyota refuses to fix it because it is over 5 year warranty. Has 47000 miles on it. Could become a safety factor if it comes completely loose from the frame.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected. The contact was informed that the truck bed needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was also concerned that the truck bed could separate from the subframe while the vehicle was being driven. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000.

T-sb-0101-12. Toyota did not notify me of this tsb. I did not discover the issue until 2 months after my 60 month service date. The dealership forts Toyota of pekin Illinois would not help me. Contact at Toyota corporate they told me because it was past my 60 months service they could not help me either. So now I'm left with a vehicle that is rusting apart that I paid over $30,000 for. I have been asking and calling for over 2 years, and now I was led to this website to file a complaint here just recently.
