I HAVE A 2008 TOYOTA TUNDRA WITH ONLY 63,500 MILES ON IT. SUDDENTLY MY ENGINE LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, 4LO-4HI CAME ON. TOOK IT TO TOYOTA AND FIND OUT I NEEDED A NEW BRAKE ACTUATOR WHICH COST OVER $2500.00. IF I HAD OF NEEDED MY 4 WHEEL DRIVE OR MY ANTI SLIP BRAKES I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD THEM. THIS IS A TOTAL SAFETY HAZARD PLUS A RIP OFF ON PRICE.

While pulling a travel trailer on an approximately 600 mile round trip, about half way through the return trip after a brief stop the Check Engine Light along with the Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control lights came on as I cranked the truck up to continue our trip. I continued the trip home. The lights went out after two days. I took the truck in to Keith Pierson Toyota on Monday 3/28 to have it checked out anyway. The diagnosed it as a P101-Mass Air Flow Sensor Malfunction due to an after market air filter being installed. The air filter maker has proven that it is not the cause of failure of mass air flow sensors nor has any vehicle manufacturer proved that after market air filters cause the failure of mass air flow sensors , but Keith Pierson Toyota still refused to find out the problem of the vehicle.
After getting home I removed the mass air flow sensor and it did NOT have the first bit of any oil residue anywhere on the sensor. The Service Technician at Keith Pierson Toyota would have seen this if he had not hastily made an erroneous conclusion, or Keith Pierson Toyota did not want to repair it under warranty. If the oil from the filter had contaminated the sensor why did it come on only after half way through the return trip, why does it go out after a couple of days.

Vehicle went into limp mode and would not go over 20 to 30 miles per hour impeding traffic. Is a safety hazard.
Was covered by extended warranty ZTQ for 10 years or 150000 miles whichever occurs first. Vehicle placed in service 4/26/08 so is past time limit voiding warranty according to dealer. Don't drive much so only has 54,153 miles on it, less than 37% of the extended warranted mileage. Secondary Injection System should have been covered by a recall instead of extended warranty. Recall should have improved design so that entire top of engine would not have to be disassembled to replace the switching valves which are located near the cab at the back of the engine. Repair cost quoted is $2,241.
I haven't made repair yet. Letting vehicle set until we can raise funds. Contacted Toyota Customer Experience Center and asked if it could be covered under under Toyota's goodwill policy due to the low mileage and fact that Toyota has not had to repair it previously. Was told no. Sending letter to complaint department today to get response in writing.
