The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Tundra equipped with pirelli scorpion tires, size: 275/65/R18 (na). While driving approximately 60 mph, the rear driver side tire blew out. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and noticed that the outside tire wall was damaged. The tire was replaced with the spare. Approximately 30 days before, the front driver side tire blew out under the same circumstances. The aftermarket tires (set of 4) were installed by the dealer (della Toyota in plattsburgh, New York) on March 21, 2016. The dealer was contacted, but the tire manufacturer was not. The tires were replaced. The vehicle failure mileage was 181,000. The approximate tire failure mileage was 209,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Tundra with Bridgestone dueler tires. The contact stated that while having the tires rotated the local mechanic noticed that the tires were bald on the outer edges. The contact called the dealer who stated that the tires were bald due to an improper wheel alignment. The dealer also informed the contact to bring the vehicle in since the tires on the vehicle were original tires. The contact also noticed numerous complaints regarding the outer edge for his tire line and was concerned since the manufacturer had not provided a remedy. The failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 37,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Tundra. The vehicle was equipped with Bridgestone/Firestone dueler A/T 693 tires, tire size, P255-70-R18. While the vehicle was parked the contact observed that all four tires exhibited a cracking in the sidewalls and tread. The manufacturer had been notified and offered to replace the defective tires at a prorated price. The failure mileage was 11,730. The current mileage was 12,000. The consumer stated the problem with the tires has been resolved. Updated 05/25/10.

The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Tundra. The contact noticed that the rear of the vehicle bounced drastically while driving between 60-70 mph. In addition, the tires were becoming worn and needed constant rotation. Toyota was aware of the failures, but does not have a remedy. They suggested that the road conditions may be at fault. The contact is concerned that a crash could occur. The current mileage was 18,900 and failure mileage was 10,000.

Toyota is putting bf goodrich rugged trail T/a tires on their 2008 Toyota Tundra crewmax trucks in size P275/65R18 but are using Michelin ltx A/S as a spare in size P255/70R18. The Michelin is approximately 3/8" smaller in diameter. I have asked for a tire that matches the others as a spare but they refuse even though I believe it to be a safety issue in inclement weather.
