It loses power, my 2009 Toyota Tundra with less than 90,000 miles, just decelerates and went down to 30 miles per hour in the freeway, I used a carmd reading to give me a code, and it shows that the code was P2442, it will cost me $2,500 or more to fix it. The engine red light, vsc and 4lo will show in the dash.

I [xxx] was returning home from my work sacramento intl airport on June 26th 2014 at 1030pm heading South on freeway 5 my truck engine died or cutoff without warning in middle of freeway, as stranded iwas pushed aside by C H P than igot it towed to my home at cost of $100 on June 27th 2014 I called elk grove Toyota dealer and got it towed again to Toyota dealer.there service adviser checked and notified me that alternator battery belt needs to be fixed as every thing was dead, they fixed at cost of $761 and I got my truck on Monday 30th 2014. I believe its a factory fault ajd Toyota manufacture should bear cost. As I consumer is the sufferer as iwas stranded on freeway could have big collision. I was the operator of the vehicle on my driveway when the engine suddenly accelerated. The accelerator was wide open while I was hard on the brakes. I was able to put the gear shift into park, and once I did the engine stopped its acceleration. I was on hard concrete, thus the rear wheels spun freely without catching traction. The vehicle left roughly 30" of front and rear wheel marks. The vehicle has run normally since the incident.
