The vehicle was taken to Toyota of hollywood (located at 1841 fl-7, hollywood, fl 33021, (866) 332-6839) where it was repaired per NHTSA campaign numbers: 09V388000 (vehicle speed control), 15V689000 (visibility), and another unknown recall. The contact stated that the failure recurred after leaving the dealer. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer on December 30, 2019 and was informed that the mechanic forgot to reset the software. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 75,605.

Turned left at a green light then truck suddenly accelerated to approximately 70 mph coming to a school zone with lights flashing and busy road ahead I seen parked BMW. The truck was new to me and had slap shifter so when I moved it for neutral it had to be pushed over and up. I just went over and with little time and busy intersection and children. I picked the BMW thought good crash rating. Slammed the over BMW and kept going til struck a power pole breaking it. There was witness behind me stated 'I was driving normal then suddenly accelerated and vier left.' I hit the BMW square with my arms protecting my face which is evident from pictures.

Within a year or two of purchasing this 2010 Toyota Tundra I noticed erratic and unpredictable acceleration characteristics when accelerating to pass and when the cruise control was engaged going up hills. The speed would increase more than necessary to accomplish the task. I decided this behavior was a personality trait of the Tundra as it never caused an unsafe situation to occur. Over the last two years I have noticed a hesitation of acceleration from stopped. I can depress the accelerator pedal and the engine sounds like it wants to go but acceleration is very lethargic. Response to accelerator pedal depression is unpredictable in that at intermittent times it just does not cause much acceleration. The tendency is to then press further down on the accelerator pedal and then the truck will eventually take off rather fast. I have not yet visited my Toyota dealership about this but I do intend to. I believe that the acceleration issue in the Toyota Tundra is perplexing and dangerous. Somebody is going to be seriously hurt because of it. I am amazed that Toyota has not been held accountable. I am skeptical about Toyota's ability or interest in fixing the problem.

A sudden acceleration of engine RPM was experienced with the transmission in park and the engine idling. Without touching accelerator pedal, engine rpms increased to 3500 to 4000 for 8-10 seconds before returning to typical idling speed engine would not subsequently respond to depression of accelerator pedal. Toyota repair shop has diagnosed problem as throttle body stuck open. Although nobody was injured or killed in this incident, that doesn't make it any less serious. Perhaps some day, Toyota will fix these issues proactively.

In slow moving traffic, repetitive light gas and light braking. Noticed the brake becoming difficult to depress. Had my left foot stationary on the foot pad, right foot over the brake while rolling forward. I was traveling North on interstate 65 from birmingham, al to franklin, tn. My cruise control was engaged and was traveling at 70 mph and I had to disengage the cruise control because of traffic.the button popped out and the cruise control was still engaged. In order to disengage the cruise control I had to tap the brake pedal. If the cars that I was traveling along side and in front of me had stopped it would have caused a accident. I have a 2010 Toyota Tundra that has about 10,000 miles on it. About two months ago I started noticing the truck will randomly have a sudden loss of power. It happens mainly when it has been sitting all day. It's kind of scary because when you are pulling out of a parking lot or making a left hand turn the truck will all of a sudden have no power and then it will jolt forward. I have not taken it to the dealer because no indicator lights are coming on and that's usually the only way they know how to fix problems. I have read a few forums that talk about this problem, one guy said he had his truck in and out of the dealer for 4 months and they basically ripped his whole truck apart. They finally came to the conclusion that the wire harness under the dash that goes to the fuel pump was loose and causing the problem. I called Toyota and the dealer and they told me they have not had enough complaints yet but when they do they will probably come out with a fix. I haven't done much since mainly because I don't want the dealer wasting my time and taking my truck apart.

I have made a report on this before but it occurred again today 4/8/2010. I have a Toyota Tundra 2010 which accelerates on its own when I start it, up to 4500-5000 RPM's. it will rev up 3-4 times and then bog down and die, I then start it up again and it is like nothing ever happened. It has never occurred while the vehicle is moving always in park when I first start it up. It has been in the shop 2 times each time for a week and they say that because they can not duplicate the problem there is no way for them to fix the problem if there is one. Hi I am calling to report a Toyota Tundra SE [xxx]. the car got service on March 27 for the recall problem according to service tech the problem was resolve. However waiting for a train to go by my car on it own accelerated on April 2 2010, again on April 6th the car accelerate once and the four times in that day it went from a speed of 65 to 5 miles per hour announcing traction control. That day the car was taken in to get service again once again a was assured by service tech that the problem was resolve. Today April 7th driving back from work the traction control light came up again and I lost complete speed and control of gas pedal. In March 2010, I purchased a new Toyota Tundra 2010 crewmax 5.7L truck fully loaded with navigation system, remote start, and guidepoint (lojack like) system from expressway Toyota in dorchester, MA. The truck was supposedly manufactured in February 2010 and had the revised gas pedal. On March 23, the incident below occurred. Was driving to work from reading, MA to charlestown, MA (about 13 miles) on Tuesday, March 23. It was a rainy day and traffic was heavy. I had the defroster and wipers on and was stuck in traffic on a busy main street about 10 miles into the trip. The car in front of me started to move forward slowly so I took my foot off the brake to also move forward slowly. That other car was about 10 feet in front of me. I barely touched the gas pedal when the truck took off at full acceleration. I got on the brake as heavy as I could and the truck fish tailed side to side. I quickly put it into neutral and then park while the truck was still revving at full acceleration. While it was in park and engine still going full speed I tapped the gas pedal with my foot and it released. I was very lucky I didn't crash into anything. I did smell a burning odor once I got the truck under control. I'm not sure if that was the tires, brake pads or something else.

6-8 weeks after I bought my truck I started having acceleration problems with my truck a 2010 Tundra. It has never accelerated while moving it has done it in park every time when I get in and start the truck. It accelerates to 4-5000 RPM's and bogs down it does 3-4 times then it bogs down and dies. I have taken my truck in 3 times and they ( Toyota of lewisville) have kept it twice and could never duplicate the problem so they claim that they could not find the problem, and that there was no trouble codes to follow up on. This incident has occurred about 8 or 9 times and I am really worried that it will someday happen while I am driving. I don't ever know when it is going to happen it just happens when I get in and start the truck whether it is hot or cold. The dealership has kept my truck twice for a week each time and has done nothing to correct the failure because they say that they can not find the problem. What can I do about this matter, I have a truck that my wife will not ride in and that it is worth nothing in a trade in. I drive it with fear of it taking off on me someday.

A few days later, while attempting to drive in reverse, the vehicle accelerated backwards and preceded to crash into a tree. There was minor damage to the front bumper. The manufacturer stated that the failure was potentially due to driver error and that he possibly had depressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brakes. The contact was concerned with operating an unsafe vehicle as it was her only means of transportation. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000 and the current mileage was 2,100.

I own an 08 Toyota Tundra. Have done all maintenance work and have records. Had the accelerator pedal problem fixed (?) by Toyota in wellesley Massachusetts on 2/5/10. The date below is approximate, I put the car in reverse and it took off smashing my rear bumper which I paid to fix. I just thank god that was not a child behind my car. Since then there have been too many incidents to counts with the accelerator sticking. Called Toyota both dealership and company and was told my truck has been fixed. I am here to tell you it has not been fixed. The more miles I put on the car the more frequently this happens. I was on channel 5 news in mass on Friday 3/5 and sat 3/6 regarding this continuing problem. Toyota is not offering a rental while they look at it and this is a work truck for me. I don't work I don't get paid and I still owe 16K on the truck. I am sending a certified letter to corporate Toyota and putting them on notice regarding the liability on this matter, which is huge. I am not losing my home and everything I have worked hard for all my life because Toyota has a problem they cannot figure out. I myself do not believe there was ever a floor mat problem, that was a delay tactic. But I am reporting to you as I was instructed to do by channel 5 not Toyota or the dealership but by the newscaster that broadcast my story.
