problem #1

Dec 152015

Tundra SE 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 13,000 miles

Steering wheel feel off while I was adjusting it. The whole steering assembly feel into my lap and I had to stab the shaft back in so that the truck could be parked. This could have been deadly if I was on the street, highway, or interstate. Toyota told me that this sort of thing happens all the time and that they would fix it this time but would not warranty the truck after it was fixed. The truck had 13000 miles on it and no steering wheel should ever just fall off of a truck or car. They said that the steering wheels on all Toyotas after 2007 are made to break away and its not hard to push the steering column out of the truck. The mechanic said that the big issue is with old fat people in the Toyota Avalons. Really, that's how you talk about your customers. I canned this truck and bought a Ford.
