Fortunately I purchased the electrical warranty which ran to 100K miles. Early on the key fob would not unlock/lock the doors and would not even unlock/unlock the door if you manually put the key into the keyhole on the driver's side door. You would have to enter via another door or crawl around the interior to manually unlock/lock the door from the inside. I had every electrical door switch replaced at least once and some twice as they failed during the 100K electrical warranty period. Even then I had to pay a $100 deductible each time.

On one visit to the dealership I mentioned that there must be a problem with the switches if they had to be replaced that often. I was told that the switch manufacturer was not Toyota and was instead produced by another company and were substandard. Sort of a "it's not Toyota's fault" sort of attitude. Bullshit. If Toyota puts in substandard parts it is Toyota's fault. Now warrant is out and two more switches have failed on doors that had them already replaced twice. There needs to be a recall to address this issue as it could potentially be a safety issue.
