Standard wheels trap and retain water. This causes seals on tire pressure monitor valve stems to be submerged in trapped water (or ice in cold weather) causing premature deterioration of valve stem seals. This has caused failure of seals on 2 separate wheels on 2 separate occasions. Vehicle is less than 5 years old with less than 35K miles. Vehicle has not been in any accidents due to this problem. 1st event was 03/16/2019, 2nd event was 11/06/2019.

The contact owns a 2015 Toyota Tundra equipped with Bridgestone dueler H/T 684 II tires, size: P255/70/R18 (na). While having routine maintenance performed on the vehicle, the technician informed the contact that the front tires needed to be replaced due to wear on the treads of the tires(just the driver side front tire only. The tires were not replaced. The tires were the original equipment. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage of the tires and the vehicle was 30,000 miles.
