I own a 2009 Toyota Venza V6 fwd that has an engine knock everyday when it is first started. The service department at capitol Toyota explained the noise was normal. I find it hard to believe Toyota would make an engine that sounds like a diesel before it warms up. I contacted Toyota who backed up the dealers claim which I again find unacceptable. There is a service bulletin to fix the issue but both the dealership and Toyota corporate state the noise has to be excessive enough and that all V6 Toyota engines do so. $34,000 for a car that sounds like a tractor. I'm seeking legal advice.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Venza. The contact stated that there was a knock in the engine. The dealer stated that the failure was caused by the piston slap. The dealer refused to repair the vehicle and stated that the noise was normal. The contact called the manufacturer who took a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
