knocking noise from front end when driving over bumps

Lower control arm bolt snapped while the car was parked. Went to the dealer and discovered the bolt head popped off. Required 7 hr to fix, and $10.50 in parts. This represents a major safety hazard for these cars, and left me wondering why I was never alerted to this potential problem. Toyota knew about this in 2009 as per their tsb.

Hello! I just purchased a 2007 Toyota Yaris Hatchback a few months ago. The car was bought used with over 69,000 km. The inspection checked out fine. The only beef I have with this car is that the front suspension makes a knocking sound whenever I go over a small bump in the road. It's not really a very loud knocking, but still annoying. After checking out a few toyota forums online, the only solution I found was that it could be worn bushings. Anyone have this problem?
