I have not received a notification from the dealership that the remedy is available as described in the NHTSA recall no. 16V-340 mailing that was received several months ago. I live in zone a and my vehicle is already (7) years plus years old. I have not allowed anyone to use the front passenger seat as recommended which is very inconvenient for people with arthritis and back issues. How long will it be to remedy this recall? I don't even feel safe driving this vehicle but it is the only one I have to use. Please help. Our one-car family has been very burdened by this recall for many months because the current "solution" is to not have anyone sitting in the passenger seat. This is already a small car and we have lost one seat due to this issue. If Toyota cannot come up with a solution in a reasonable time frame, they should compensate owners of this car for loss of front seat passenger use.

How am I supposed to drive in a dangerous vehicle that I depend on to get to work every day? I think it is extremely necessary to at least provide a timeline for the remedy, or at the very least allow all owners at serious risk to use rental cars at no cost from Toyota.

I braked to avoid hitting an animal which emerged from the ditch. The car fishtailed, lost control and flipped once landing on it's top. The driver's side was damaged and the insurance company totaled the car. I did hit my head against the driver's side window, but the blow was not severe. My concern is that the side airbag did not deploy. The anti-lock brakes did not work either and have only worked intermittently for quite some time.

The airbag on the passenger side of our 2008 Toyota Yaris sedan is not functioning properly. The lsrs warning light has come on eight different times. We only have paperwork for six of the incidents. When we bring the car in for service, they just reset the light (turn it off) and they have asked us not to push the seat back, but to keep it in the mid range of the rail, not to recline the seat in the back position, but to decline the seat forward while a person is riding in the passenger seat. We were told by the technician that we should never let a child or small person ride in the front seat. We were also told that this condition could cause the airbag to go off while driving. They have never taken the vehicle apart to see what the problem actually is. They only shut the warning light off. People are afraid to ride in this vehicle. The dealership has now refused to honor their warranty on the airbags in this vehicle. They blamed a panel at the nh department of safety for breaking the vehicle when they caused the light to appear again after they test drove the vehicle. They had previously disengaged the warning light, so the panel did not find a defect' subsequently, they found for Toyota. The light reappeared minutes after the car was restarted after their drive in it. We requested that they would hear the case, the panel at the arbitration dept at the nh department of safety refused. We will now be charged for every time this vehicle has to have this warning light reset as well as driving a car that their :special" technician admitted they had no idea why this was happening.
