Yaris

I have had my car for three years now I bought it used two years old. Within a month after my purchase I noticed as I was starting the car that you could hear the vehicle turnover and after 5 to 10 seconds The car would finally start. I didn't think anything of this after the first time however it happened a second and a third time. I contacted the dealership and learned that they lied to me about my warranty so I do not have one. All the men in my family are mechanics and they Think possibly it is within the starter has a short in the wiring causing the delayed start. This is a very annoying issue as it happens maybe twice a month. If you have any idea as to what the problem is and if it is serious or if you know how to resolve this issue please let me know. It's becoming a pain in my ass royally!!

dealer still has found no problems with this car. getting frustrated! starter cranks but does not start the car half the time. I have to wait a few minutes then try again.

Update from Nov 12, 2011: starter finally bit the dust! dealer mechanics said it had an Internal short. so they replaced starter. It only took them 15,000 miles to find the problem! Of course they probably found it since it caused a fire!

Update from Nov 12, 2011: Starter burned up and melted a few wires. I guess they finally found the problem! It only took almost catching my car on fire to find it! Now they are saying the starter had an internal short, hmmm I wonder whats next on the problem list? Oh wait the EPS warning light is still coming on! I think they like me coming to the shop every week yelling at them! I now have 21,000 ,iles and have had this 2010 yaris in the shop 17 times for problems! And they say there is nothing wrong with my car , well at least they say that until I show them the videos I recorded of the problems as they are happening. Internal short in the stereo now an internal short in the starter??????? Stay tuned for episode 18! Coming soon!!!
