When stopped at a light, the engine would rev up to 1.5. I needed to place the car in PARK to reset it.
This has happened almost every day for 2-3 months.. There are no dashboard warning light. When taken to the dealer they said I had low voltage everywhere on the car. I bought a new battery had it computerized to the car.
The dealer service team was emphatic that they don't "fix" issues, they only do maintenance.
The next day, the same issue appeared. Took the car back and the tech's stated that the scan shows no faults in the vehicle. Since I researched the issue I asked them to clean the throttle body, which was dirty per before and after photos. They never offered this option to me. I had to do the research. The next day and the following 9 days, when at a stop light DID NOT rev up. The tachometer stayed perfectly at 0.75.
However on day 10 after the throttle cleaning, as I was approaching a light and was slowing down, the car revved to 3.0 and I had to immediately stop and put into PARK. This was scary!
I've noticed for a while that the car seems to run "uneven", like not smooth. Now that I'm paying close attention to the tachometer, I notice swings in the reading even when driving. It's not a consistent movement up or down. It's very unnerving to say the least.
The service techs are blind to symptoms, relying 100% on the computer, which says there are no issues with the car.
Since I was not the original owner, I need to find out if it's still under warranty. I plan to do the maintenance as outlined in my research although the throttle fix seemed to be the most successful in that research.
