You cannot remove the ABS module (to send in for repair) and still drive the car (like you can with many other models, for example, BMW). And some of VW's modules are NOT repairable, but must be replaced (and are very expensive). Lots of niggling problems with this Mexico-built VW.

I had the car checked and was told it was the front right ABS wheel speed sensor so I went on and got the two front sensors replaced. The light got cleared and did not come back until the next day and now goes and comes as it pleases, yet staying on most of the time it is rare for it to turn off now. I am unable to drive this car especially if it is slightly slick as it causes the car to slip or drift of some sort, VERY DANGEROUS! In addition to that, the brake light decides to turn on randomly while driving, indicating that the wiring that goes to the ABS wheel speed sensor is not grounding properly or shorting somehow. Another mishap will be the Control Module not being able to clear the ABS codes due to the short or grounding issues the wire is causing or the ABS Control Module may need to be replaced. Before the replacement of the ABS wheel speed sensors the brakes would slip and pulsate while trying to come to a stop or slowing down also VERY DANGEROUS!!
