bought the car new in dec. 1999. started having electrical problems in march or april 2000. i have had the instrument panel replaced three time at the dealership, have had the main computer replaced twice, have had to send the keys back to vw to get them reprogrammed, have had to replace the mass air flow sensor twice, and have had to have the trans. rebuilt all ready. all of this with the exception of the trans. had been done within the first two years of owning the car. i have started having problems again and i have talked to the dealership and they told me since i was over on my warranty that there was nothing they could do. i asked even since it has been a problem in the past and the dealership service department has record all the records of the problems and they still told me that there was nothing they could do. i then called vw customer relations and they told me the same thing. has made me think twice about owning a vw.
