Beetle GLS Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,796 miles

My car has been well maintained, always by VW.. I never received any notice of problems or extensions on the transmission.. I was on the freeway a couple months ago and my car went into neutral all by itself and nearly caused an accident.. It has happened a couple times where I've nearly been rear ended.. When is VW going to fix this problem? When somebody's killed?

I called VW headquarters and was told it was 4 years past the 5 year warranty and even though it was under 60,000 miles that they could do nothing to help me.. I spent 1,700.00 on a platinum warranty for nothing.. The car looks new but the top won't go down, lights keep going out and the battery has been replaced several times.. This was the last car I was ever going to buy.. I'm retired and live on a income of $800.00 a month.. It's $6000.00 for a new transmission and the cars not even worth that.. I think VW should be responsible for recalling all the vehicles that were made with these faulty transmissions.. I'm sure there has been accidents and deaths that have occurred due to their negligence.. I will never buy another VW again and neither should anybody else.. Such a shame!

Beetle V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 96,000 miles

I bought this VW new and have had it taken care of by the VW dealer. The car for the last 6 months has been jerking into gear at random times. I spent $800 to replace part of the gear shift that was broken and then they tell me it is the transmission. Another $5100 to fix. I see there has been many other complaints on this issue of the jerking into gear. I can't afford to fix it but can't afford not to either. Seems like VW should do something to sand behind their porduct as thi seems to be an issue for many people owning VW's.

Beetle Turbo 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,600 miles

Bought this car from a dealer in Texas, 777 Auto Group. It was advertised as 52,363 miles, great condtion, well-maintained. It had all of its problems when it got here. Dealer in Texas (Joe Walker at 777 Auto Group) would not stand by it, do anything at all to compensate. Took 10 days to get the title, no contract, nothing signed. new transmission (also cv joint, top part replacements
