A few months after owning my 2011 Volkswagen CC, the parking brake failed to work properly as it is electronically controlled, not just a lever. And being a manual transmission its always a good idea to have a parking brake, I took it to the garage and they told me that the computer did not record an error message and therefore could not duplicate the problem because it was sporadic as to when it happened, so they did nothing to fix it.
