The contact owned a 2017 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated while driving 30-35 mph in the rain, they crashed into the rear of an unknown vehicle. The contact struck his head on the front windshield. There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to his head and arms medical attention was provided. The vehicle was towed to an independent lot. A police report was filed. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The contact stated the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number: 19V014000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 28,000.
