I have twin daughters that were 17 yrs. Last yr. I am a single mom. I bought this car off a craigslist ad. When my daughter & I went & looked at it I looked to see if it had ever been wrecked it had no report of that. The person that sold it to me said the convertible didn't go down because he didn't have the key, I had no idea that it had 33 complaints filed on it, and it would be leaking water filling the floor boards 2-3"every time it stormed. I also didn't know that the person that bought it brand new was hit by a ice truck who rolled over the top over it, nor did I know that the next person that bought the car had the convertible top blow off on the freeway going 60 mph down the road so her mechanic just glued it closed, nor did I the person I bought it from said it had one owner and it ran really great, I expressed I had to buy two cars & couldn't afford to buy junk or something unreliable, now my daughter is ready to go out of state to college & we can't even sell the car because of all of the complaints filed against the car. We can't afford to get it fixed and had never been sold to us as a decent running car as is. This car is literally falls beyond the lemon law it is dangerous, and I feel we have been taken advantage of in this situation. I don't know what to do about it. But I am in no position to finance another car for my daughter, this vehicle should be taken out of commission

Traveling down the road at 60mph, the engine suddenly lost power and the tachometer redlined before it dropped into first gear. The epc light came on. My wife was driving. I got in and the light was out, so I drove for five minutes and the light came on and I lost power on the highway at 65mph -- same issue with tach. I pulled over to the side of the road and took it to the nearest mechanic shop. It is still at the shop as they are trying to troubleshoot. Noticed that VW put out a tech bulletin in 2009 (15 09 03 Dec. 16, 2009 2015153 supersedes T. B. group 15 number 09-02 dated November 10, 2009 to revise technical diagnosis code in warranty table.) but did not issue a recall. Seriously, this is a major safety issue as the truck behind me swerved to miss me. Searching the internet, it seems that there are numerous complaints regarding this, but no recall to fix this. Help!!!
