I purchased the vehicle used on 12/31/11 and traded in my 1998 jeep cherokee. I wanted to trade in and ensure that I had reliable transportation. So far, it has been anything but reliable. On day 3 the radio stopped working. I was able to fix it myself. First checking fuses and then watching a youtube video on how to pull the radio and check for an in-line fuse. Turns out after googling one more time someone suggested to hit the reset button on the unit. Yay. Solved. Day 5 car won't start. Day 6-7 vehicle running. Day 10 dead battery. Days 11 -12 vehicle at the Vw Dealership. 109.00 later they say that all reports suggest a bad battery. Battery looked good and was just put in by the folks at the place that I bought it. Anyway, they wanted 180.00 for a new battery and install. I left and picked up my own interstate battery for 108.00 and had a service station put it on. Both places (Napa Auto and Service Station) looked at the old battery and said...... "Are ya sure that this is a bad battery?" Yep. I tell them that's what the "dealership" told me. Scratching their heads... they sigh and say, 'okay then.' Off I go and I am thrilled that the vehicle has surpassed the en-famous 5 day DIE problem only to have it re-occur at 3 weeks. Now on my NEW battery. Anyway, It has been at the place that I got it for 10 days, they said it is probably the after market radio that they had installed so they shipped it off to the car person. They called Monday and said it was ready. I went yesterday to pick up my vehicle and guess what????? Completely dead. I am without a darn car that I am paying 269.00 a month for and I have ended up with someone else' problem. HELP? I feel so disappointed. It is a beautiful car but it has made my son late for school (his first tardy but he is only 11) and me almost late for work. Any suggestions??????
