Misfires, loss of power, scary engine brakes. Really the worst! I need them replaced but can't get them now, have to wait...

GTI 2.0L Turbo

  • Manual transmission
  • 65,000 miles

When my car was under warranty until 60k, I was told not to worry about the ignition coil as the ones now are supposed to get at least 100k mileage to them before I had to worry about them. After talking to fellow VW owners and researching, I see that many Volkswagens have had ignition coil problems and I think that this is an unexpected and unnecessary car repair at the mileage this has.

GTI Autobahn 2.0L Tsi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 59,500 miles

The check engine light itself was not a problem but the intake runner control flap was bad and required replacing the entire intake manifold which would have been $540 at the dealership if not for an extended warranty.
