My vehicle has had ALL the regular maintenance suggested by VW done at the dealership. Not one mention of anything related to the sunroof was ever mentioned, nor have I received any correspondence of any kind regarding the sunroof issues that I have now been reading about. I live in SoCal and we finally had some serious rains. My entire cream-colored headliner and the panorama sunroof shade are ruined! Stained really badly and sagging. I'm sure it's going to cost thousands to fix.
I retracted just the sunshade, and it came back out soaked from inside where it rolls up when open! My windshield was full of condensation, and I had to run the defrost on full heat to evaporate it WITH the doors open. I also opened the sunroof to look at the tracks and they were clean...no debris, but there's no way to check the fixed back half of the panorama sunroof at all, which is where a lot of water seems to still be based on my sunshade coming back out soaked, and there's evidence that water dripped onto the privacy screen for the cargo area! Thankfully I have WeatherTec in the cargo area that protected the carpet in that area should the water get through the cargo privacy screen. We are dropping the car off at the dealership tomorrow to have it looked at.
