I've been driving around in a car that looks good except that the exterior molding on the doors is falling off! The dealership says that it happens to many Volkswagen Jettas. The only thing that can be done is to replace the molding. This is very costly. They will order the moldings for me, but a body shop will have to paint them and attach them. Is anyone else having this problem, and what are you doing about it? If it is happening to so many other Jettas, why doesn't Volkswagen do something about it?

Volkswagens of these model years seem to all have this problem--the molding just starts to fall off. I just bought some epoxy glue at Target for $3 and glued the molding back on. Worked like a charm. Just clean all surfaces first, and follow the directions on the epoxy. Way better than what the dealers or even auto parts stores will recommend! and better than driving around with no molding! Good luck!
