This car has exactly seven hundred thousand sensors in it. If a small child farts in a bank vault in the next county, this car will sense it and it will FREAK OUT. After I'd replaced the MAF sensor we still had a problem with the EPC light coming on and the car shuffling down the highway like it was made of concrete and Parkinson's disease. The VW dealership said it was the throttle body sensor. Not the throttle body mechanism, mind you, just the sensor. Twenty guesses on whether you can just replace the sensor and not the whole $350 throttle body. The only reason I haven't filled this car with gasoline and driven it into a chainsaw factory is 1.) my girlfriend inexplicably loves things that are always mildly broken (win for me) and 2.) all the crap that goes wrong with it is relatively easy to replace at home (win for Jetta).
