I purchased my 2013 Pilot used in Jan 2016, original paperwork from the first buyer showed my local Honda dealer was the initial seller. In June of 2017 I noticed a small chip in the paint, smaller than the size of a dime. Then our northern weather got bad and I had hoped to address it once the weather broke.
As of today, April 2018, you can see it is spreading and de-laminating. Took it back to the dealership who tells me it is out of warranty but they will send my complaint to Corporate, could take a month to hear back. Having been a body shop owners daughter I can tell you this is a primer/paint failure. The army green/brown undercoat is smooth, has no tooth to hold the paint. Should not be happening on a 5 yr old car. Had I known this might be an issue I may have gone with another color or a different manufacturer.
Internet search brought me to this site. Hoping to read that Honda corp did right by other owners, not sure I should hold my breath. BTW, did get an estimate from a local body shop, $800 to repair. But now the check engine light and the VTM light just came on this weekend. Must have that looked at, paint would have to wait.
