ignition immobilizer stays on, engine turns over then stops
When starting the car the ignition immobilizer stays on preventing the car from starting in a reliable fashion. The key has been checked out by a Volkswagen dealership and have been told there is nothing wrong with it.
Interestingly, when I remove the key, leave the car (when I'm having this problem) and then return back to it, in about 10 minutes, it then starts up with no problems, like if it "resets" itself.
This intermittent problem has been occurring in about 1 out of every 10 attempts to start it. Note: When the problem does occur, the engine does turn-over then cuts-off and a warning light comes on showing the immobilizer is still active.
The Jetta has been seen at a Volkswagen dealer (Father and Sons, West Springfield, MA) twice and to an independent repair shop once over the past 4 months and they cannot find the problem at the cost of $300.

Appreciate any insight on this matter, thanks.
