The door lock doesn't work. It does not lock all the doors which can lead to a fatality if my little children open the door by accident. For what I seen this is a manufacture defect in all these vehicles.

My back passenger door doesn't lock, the door latch is out. The diagnostic report states that eventually my drivers door latch is going to go out as well. Two car doors do not lock leaving my car available for possible break ins. Currently can't leave valuable things in my car since it wont lock. Car doors have been acting up, leaving certain doors to open and others not. My passenger front door wont open, and currently only the drivers door opens, this electrical issue changes often and certain doors will lock and the next day it changes again. Called manufacture informed me nothing they can do for me. Called my dealership they told me the same thing. Car currently isn't under warranty, bought it without a warranty. Still making payments and not having a car that will lock and let me in, is an issue.

2007 wolfsburg edition Jetta: Experiencing issues latches/locks/linkages/ first with one door lock (rear left) around Sep 2011. Then 2nd door (rear ) warranty already passed, the dealer told me that the locks can go bad and need to be replaced, costing $250/$200 each plus labor $100 hr./3 hrs or $300!! for grand ttl almost $800! replacement. Now I already having problem with driver door!! this seems excessive specially VW should address this quality issue with their supplier now and have them fixed at no cost. This is a safety issue drive for work around some not nice neighborhoods, car can't be lock. I have 2 kids and afraid door can open so easily. I hope something is done before we hear really bad news. This is a serious issue as the locks serve as the first line of defense in anti-theft. I searching online and see others with similar issues, I decided to report, I still have issues with lock. Hope people reads and report the issue. I have bought 2 other VW is past and never had this problem. I don't think will buy a fourth VW.

Power door lock system failure. Can not lock entire doors. Key got stuck and could not remove key from ignition. Had to call a tow-truck, pay ($350) and have taken to dealer. Dealer recommended replacing entire power door systems. Cost me about $450...went ahead and approved replacement. $350 + $450 = $800. Power lock failed again...Sep-Oct 2012. Dealer again recommends replacing entire power lock system. What"??" no recall has be implemented or set....

The electric door locks on my 2007 Jetta failed to lock or unlock using the electric lock buttons in the doors or by using the remote. Only the driver's side rear door responds to any lock action. The driver's door only locks and unlocks with the key in the lock. This was not due to dead batteries in the remote control. This is a commonly reported problem (as observed by online reports by other owners) and could lead to safety concerns if a person is unable to unlock a door to exit the vehicle, or personal property concerns if a person cannot lock their door.

Once the vehicle is parked, I can't remotely nor manually lock the rear driver side door. Basically, three doors will lock, but the rear driver side door remains unsecure. The alarm doesn't audible, but does activate. This problem happened many hundreds of miles ago, intermittently but has come to a point were I can't secure my vehicle is not 100 % secured.
