Reference 10959049 additional information. On 04/01/2016 had the ignition replaced in the vheicle at the dealership. Vehicle would not accept the key after being parked, however all lights, blinkers and indicators (door open dings), radio functioned as if the key was in the ignition and vehicle was running. Vehicle towed to dealership for ignition replacement.

Suspension rusted out...springs, arms, bushings, the entire front suspension system both left side and right, with exception of the shocks. Sudden clanking noise, front end scraping the uneven roadway surface. Vehicle parked until it could be looked at by technician, and the front end just rusted apart, including springs fell out upon the lift of the vehicle....absolutley no tire wear to indicate any issue prior, or steering compromise...was told by the technician the "this usually is seen on the passat, not Jettas"....vehicle has 97000. Miles....vehicle is driven highway and city street use. Vehcile was involved in and accident, it being struck in the rear end, while in motion on a city street, violently by another vehicle on 04/04/2014, damage to the trunk, hatch, rear bumper, and firing mechanism on the drivers side seatbelt engaged rendering the seatbelt unable to function and needed replaced.

Right side drive shaft and left side drive shaft faulty. Vacuum pump leaking oil bad, and new gasket needed. Left side rear door latch also does not lock posing a threat to safety and leaving possibility for robber, vehicle damage and or bodily harm due to intruder.

The contact owns a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving approximately 25 mph, a loud metal to metal noise emitted outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who advised the contact that the front passenger's side coil spring was fractured. The mechanic was unable to locate the part needed for repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.
