I am not a certified mechanic but, when I hear tapping, when my wife hears tapping, there is tapping. We purchased the car and since day one have put in high octane 93 gas in the car. The tapping noise is bothersome, to the point we have taken the vehicle in to get 'serviced' and the mechanic whom approached the car did a double take on the paper work and started to look around. My wife had asked him what was the problem. He said it sounds like a diesel.
Hopefully they can fix this. The tapping noise has gotten louder since we moved to New York.
