Dealerships want to charge me diagnostic fees which was ridiculous. the dealership scanned the code but did not went further without the additional fee.

I was in a side impact crash with the other vehicle going approximately 60 mph. I was hit on the drivers side and none of the airbags deployed. After the vehicle was towed, my insurance adjuster opened the drivers side door to assess the damage and the airbag then deployed. My insurance adjuster stated that the airbag should have deployed and it may have helped with the impact.

" takata recall" ? my husband was going to work one day and a deer came out of nowhere and hit him. He was going about 30 mph and was getting ready to turn into work. When the deer hit him, the drivers side air bag(curtain I think they call it) and drivers rear air bag deployed but not the airbag directly in front front of him. The side airbag hit him so hard that the airbag material left a mark on the left side of his neck.(it looked like a burlap/canvas material) my husband suffered a concussion and now has pcs and still is having problems because of the airbag. The car is currently not recall for the airbag but should be. His car was totaled

On 9/13/2015 I noticed an air bag light had activated. The VW dealer tells me that a wiring harness, part #1K0971584 has broken. I can drive the vehicle without a steering wheel air bags or get it fixed, my choice. Well this car only has 35500 miles on it. This harness should not have broken. The funny thing is this harness sits under the air bag between the air bag and the steering wheel. I believe VW has/ had a recall for 2010 to 2014 Jetta models for the same thing. There is something going wrong under the steering wheel air bag and VW better find out what the problem is and repair it.

Hoses for the sunroof drains not sealed properly. Water leaks into passenger compartment. Fills spare tire well, rusting the jack and tools making it hard to use if needed. Water also runs down a pillar (where there is an airbag) and then over (soaking) the fuse box on the side of the dashboard. Then it runs down the plastic trims and leaks onto the feet of the driver soaking the floor mat. The wet fuse box and airbag seems dangerous. Date first noted and mileage are guesses. I know of many other Jetta sportwagens that have this issue.

Jetta

The contact owned a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving at approximately 45 mph and applying the brake pedal, the ABS, the stability, and the brake warning lights illuminated. In addition, there was a loud abnormal noise and the vehicle spun out of control. The vehicle flipped three times and crashed into a bush. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries. The contact did not disclose if a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear passenger axle was fractured. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000.

First time the air bag indicator light came on was only a year after purchase(December 2010; mileage 27,341). I immediately took it to the dealership (same dealership that I purchased the vehicle from) in wa (duty station at the time) and explained that it happened after the passenger seat had been moved. Problem was diagnosed as" passenger seat ignitor connector failed." Wiring harness was repaired by the dealership at no cost due to vehicle still being under warranty. I was then deployed for 15 months and had the vehicle in storage. Upon my return, and driving the vehicle again, the airbag indicator light came on once again in April 2012 with mileage of 29,052. Once again had the vehicle inspected at VW dealership in tn (my duty station at the time), where the vehicle was diagnosed with the same issue. Passenger seat airbag connector was repaired (again) under warranty by dealership. In Aug 2014, the air bag indicator light came on for the third time. I provided all previous maintenance/repair history to dealership to let them know that this was a previous and recurring issue. Issue was diagnosed again as an issue with the wiring and with the vehicle now out of warranty, had to pay for the work. At this repair I was told that they could see where previous work had been done and was reassured they had fixed the problem for good. In Oct 2014 the air bag light came on for the fourth time. After this, I contacted VW headquarters and explained the issue who then assigned a "regional manager" to my "case." I deployed again shortly after, but had my mother work with the dealership and VW to resolve. Finally looked farther into other than the wiring and result was having to replace the entire passenger seat ($1100). VW refused to pay for the repair due to vehicle being out of warranty even though original issue began 4 years prior while under warranty.
