DSG 7 Gearbox Juddering Problem occurred really severely after few months of purchasing the car. The problem had became worst over time until going up slope in a car park entrance where there is a pile up proved to be really dangerous at low gear. The gear intermittently refuses to engage and the gearbox starts juddering.

After going back to Volkswagen Singapore constantly, the only thing they did was attempt to tune the gearbox ratio and change the gearbox oil. It would reduce the juddering problem for awhile, usually about 1 to 2 months. But the sadly, the problem comes back anyway.

The mentioned problem seem to be common and in worst scenarios that happened to other Volkswagen cars installed with DSG 7 Gearbox, the car would be stuck in "Neutral Gear" while you are actually on 1st Gear. The Gear will not be able to engage the clutch back. The only solution would be to wait for a tow truck to tow your car all the way back to the Volkswagen Service Centers.

I had continuously had to time and effort to drive down to the Service Centers to get the problem reduced. Each time would usually take a full day or two. Over the years, I've went so many times, I kind of gave up.

I've only recently made an official complaint to Volkswagen Germany in search of an escalation to the head quarters. Hoping to get a cure for the juddering problem. Sadly, the customer service had only forwarded the problem case back to Volkswagen Singapore Customer Service. Which in turn, told me to bring my car back to the Service Center again, they even mentioned that the Service Center Agents will be contacting me to make an appointment. Sounds good?

The communication had been done so far via E-Mail. The best thing that happens next? Customer Service dropped me an email after about 6 working days. Telling me that "they understand that the arrangement had been confirmed." And I replied "But I haven't even receive any calls to make any appointments?". Following that, Customer Service replied that they had made a mistake as the service center already confirmed an appointment FOR me but without making any attempts to inform me or even consult me if I'm available. That's fine, now the best part, the whole complaint is in Dec 2014, the arrangement for the service can only be made in Feb 2015!

Awesome customer service provided by Volkswagen Singapore. I've been trying to escalate the problem thru their customer service, but I've been ignored completely. Instead, they would only ask me to send my car back again for their tuning and oil change.

All communications are in E-Mail, If Volkswagen Management would like to see, I'll be most glad to forward the entire email history. Through the History, you would be able to see how bad the customer service had been and be informed that I had been nice. You would be able to see it from the E-Mail correspondences.

I hope Volkswagen would improve their service, it's ridiculous and felt extremely disappointed with Volkswagen. Being a self proclaimed "Popular" car but with problems that cannot be resolved.
