I bought a brand new 2012 VW Jetta. Exactly two years (and about a week) later, my ignition went. I had been having problems turning the car on when I bought it (but my friend assured me it was just a steering wheel lock). As the time went on, the problem got worse and I had trouble turning the car off! It would take up to ten minutes to get the key to turn. Eventually, the car wouldn't turn off! I had to use an extended break from work to drive it to the dealer because I couldn't turn it off! In order to get it off, they had to unplug the battery. It took about two days before they could actually get the key out without destroying the key. They had to replace my ignition. The dealer says this is a common problem with Volkswagens.

Almost every day, the key won't turn, mostly in hot days. Wiggling steering wheel sometimes for 5 minutes to make it work. It seems is getting worst every day.
