The Jetta drives well enough without any alarming issues. My only complaint on the quality of the vehicle was confirmed by dealerships and other owners- the electrical system is incredibly shorty on the 2012 model. Winter is usually when the host of issues surface from horn failure, alarm failure, and the dash lights up like Christmas with all the warnings. If it's under warranty, this can be quickly fixed. Make sure to check the mechanics work.
The worst experience about purchasing a VW Jetta has to be VW delearship, VW America, and VW credit- 3 separate entities. My records were through all over the place leaving me with 2 cars under my name for years and destroying my credit. While leasing the car for 3 years my account management was never process often leaving me delinquent until we reviewed it again, again, again, and again, and again, and again- each time they claimed it was my fault. No dealership currently has my correct contract information and the many I've contacted and visited are swindlers. Visiting one dealership let to a shouting match when I asked the salesman to explain new charges that didn't look right like: Insurance, sales tax on a lease, and an assortment of fees that I still don't know what they are for. He didn't know, but insisted he was tired and that's how things are- they are this way. VW America is aware of the fraudulent practices of the dealerships and is powerless to stop them; VW Credit is another monster that apparently has no idea was they other 2 parties are doing and can't seem to properly manage their accounts.
