Apparently I "hit" something on the road "according to the dealer" to cause the bubbles and separation of my front drivers tire before my first oil change. Bought new tire at dealer $300. A week later the same side rear was now gone. I drive 60 miles to and from work and I know the interstate well, I hit nothing that would cause this type of damage. Spent $600 on new tires (someplace else) 1 1/2 years ago and no tire troubles since. These tires were defective from the get go but since warranty doesn't cover tires, I had to buy them I didn't feel safe with them on. PO'd at VW but love my zippy little car that gets 43 mpg.
