I will never ever get behind the wheel of a VW. I was pulling into the parking lot in front of my elderly parents ground level condo. My father (who has congestive heart failure) was sitting next to me in the passenger seat. I turned into their parking spot, right in front of their patio door. I applied the brakes, however, they did not work and the car accelerated! The car went over the sidewalk and through their iron gate. I thought for sure we were going to smash through the glass door into their living room! I pushed down again and again on the brake and was able to stop the car about 1 inch from the glass door!! I am traumatized from this today and also have fibromyalgia. I really would like to warn others who own a 2016 Jetta! This will not have a good ending for other owners!! I will come back with more info and pictures tomorrow ! This is my father's car and he is definitely not going to drive it!!

Son was in stop and go traffic. Car in front of him started to go, he waited a second and started to follow. He was moving 10-15mph when car in front of him slammed on brakes. He then hit his brakes, heard a loud boom and slid into the Toyota Tacoma in front of him, resulting in total loss of car. He said car did not stop but slid!! reading the insurance total loss report I noticed cars similar to his make and model had a recall #23R1 that described exactly what he said happened. This prompted me to call Volkswagen and they said his car was not part of the recall. Just wondering if this was actually a loss of brake assist.
