The contact owns a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that he is deaf but hears low frequency sounds. The contact was driving at 40 mph, when he heard an abnormally loud sound. The contact stated that the moon roof glass had shattered. The visor cover prevented the glass from falling into the vehicle. The contact was unaware of what caused the moon roof to shatter. The dealer dorschel Volkswagen (3817 w henrietta rd, rochester, NY 14623) was informed of the failure and informed the contact to file a claim with his insurance company. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was not covered under warranty. The moon roof was replaced. The failure mileage was 17,550.
