The contact owns a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 5 mph, the vehicle stalled and the hybrid error warning message illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that there was a shaved wiring harness which caused a fuse to blow. As a result, the wiring harness and fuse needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and two days later the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 9,000 and the current mileage was 9,200.

All warning lights came on and the car died (stalled out) on an interstate highway. Car was not drivable. Lost all power. The car had to be towed to the nearest VW dealer (VW of naples, fl). Upon inspection, the dealer noted that the hybrid would run for about 3-minutes and then turn off. VW determined that the electric drive power and control electronic module (JX1) had failed. It took 12 days to repair, since the power module needed to be shipped from germany. The root cause for the power module (JX1) failure is currently not known. Please investigate further, since this is a safety concern.
